As part of that we’ll be hosting the Truman Scholarship Foundation’s Tara Yglesias (she’s giving the scheduled talk on Leadership and Public Service), and while she is on campus she has agreed to offer a Truman Scholarship Information Session as well! That will be on Friday, November 22 at 2pm in the ARCH Fireside Lounge.
The Truman Scholarship provides up to $30,000 in funding toward graduate school for “change agents” who will pursue public service careers - recipients may apply the funding toward graduate study in fields like Public Policy, Public Health, Social Work, Education, International Affairs, Law, and related areas. Only juniors (who are US citizens) are eligible to apply for the Truman Scholarship, and Penn’s internal deadline is coming up on December 1st - as such, this particular session may be most valuable for first-year students and sophomores as they consider applying in the future. Please consider sharing this upcoming Truman Scholarship information session with your students, and I hope that we will see many of them throughout the week!
