P1P Video Project

10/8/2019

As we approach the National First-Generation Celebration on November 4-8, 2019, the Office of Penn First Plus is looking to record faculty and staff narratives about their academic experiences as first-generation undergraduates as well as their experiences as first-generation faculty and staff at Penn. Given the many misconceptions about first-generation undergraduates and their capacity to succeed at Penn, highlighting the achievements of established scholars and professionals serves to shift the narrative from one of limitations and high-need to one of ability, strength, and contributions to academe and broader society.

To such ends, P1P invites you participate in sharing your academic journey while being filmed. In advance of being filmed, you will be provided a list of questions from which you can choose a handful to answer. We have blocked the following dates and times specifically for faculty and staff:

  • Thursday, 10/10, from 10am-2pm
  • Wednesday, 10/16, from 11:30am-1:30pm

If you cannot make these times, but want to participate, we will work with you to schedule another session. Because each session will take half an hour, we encourage you to RSVP by Monday, October 7, 2019, to ensure your spot using the following link:https://forms.gle/6CiubUfysYY5UMPF7.
